I run Very Good Systems out of Hartselle, Alabama. Before this I spent about fifteen years building websites and software, which mostly means I've seen a lot of ways for things to quietly not work.
I work with owner-run home service businesses. Roofers, painters, HVAC techs, plumbers, electricians, concrete guys, tree services, gutter companies, remodelers, landscapers. The kind of business where the owner is still on the truck most days.
Almost everyone finds me the same way. The phone is quieter than it should be, or money is going out the door for marketing and nothing obvious is coming back, and they don't know which of those two things to worry about first.
That's the part I actually enjoy. Not selling websites. Working out which of the six or seven things that could be wrong is the one costing you real money, and then going and fixing it.
I'm not a big shop and I'm not trying to be. That means I can't take everybody, but it also means the person who looks at your business is the person who does the work and the person who answers when you call.
What I want is to work with good business owners for a long time. That only happens if I do good work, tell you the truth about what's working and what isn't, and don't sell you things you don't need. So that's how I run it.
